Michael Vick thought the worse. I thought the worst. When Michael Vick sprinted towards the trainers on the sidelines after banging his hand against Jason Kelce’s helmet, he thought the had broken his thumb.
From Birds 24/7′s Sheil Kapadia:
“When it first happened, because I heard a pop, I thought it was broken,” Vick said “And you react differently when you don’t know exactly what happened. I tried to get to the sideline as fast as I could. I did the same type of thing last year against Dallas, but I was able to come back the next week and play. But this time, I heard a pop, and thankfully it was because of the collision, not because of the broken bone.”
It was a bad night to be a hamstring, too. Jeremy Maclin strained his hamstring before pre-game warmups and was unable to play. Cullen Jenkins and Dion Lewis strained theirs during the game. They’ll have MRIs today but they aren’t expected to be serious injuries.
Oh, and the Eagles beat the Steelers 24-23. Preseason Football!
